Mark received his Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) in Accounting/Taxation from the University of Virginia (UVa). After graduating from UVa Mark began his financial career with a big five accounting firm, where he provided financial planning and tax counsel to ultra high net worth individuals. Prior to founding Sentinel, Mark was a Partner and Managing Director of the Washington, D.C., office of a large financial advisory firm with several billion dollars under management.
With Mark’s 25+ years of experience in financial planning, his expertise has been recognized throughout the financial services industry. Mark has been listed as a top financial advisor in publications such as Washingtonian magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine and the Washington Business Journal. In addition to being published in The Journal of Financial Planning, Mark has been quoted by many media outlets including, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Money Magazine, USA Today, Kiplinger’s Finance magazine and US News and World Report.
Mark is involved in the community, consulting with and serving on the Boards of Directors for various non-profit organizations. When not crunching numbers, you might run into him at a Nationals game, local comedy show or country music concert. Mark, his wife Karen and their three children live in Herndon, Virginia.
Caitlin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Virginia and a Master of Arts in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University. She is a Certified Financial Planner and received the University of Georgia’s Certificate in Financial Planning. She is also an Enrolled Agent (EA) which is the highest credential the IRS awards to tax advisors.
Caitlin brings over 13 years of corporate and personal finance experience to the Sentinel team. Prior to joining Sentinel, Caitlin provided client service and financial planning support for a financial planning firm in Charlottesville. She began her career working as a financial analyst for an international non-profit as well as mid-sized corporations focusing on budgeting and analysis.
Caitlin enjoys reading; rooting for the Nationals, Washington Football team, and Virginia Cavaliers; and training her two dogs in agility and nose work. She resides in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Kelley joined the firm in 2004 with over 10 years of executive administrative experience. During her 15+ years with Sentinel she has built excellent relationships with our clients. Her detailed knowledge of each client’s goals allows her to excel in the role of Client Services Manager.
Kelley is an anchor of the Sentinel team. She is the primary liaison between our clients, advisors and custodial firms. She manages client workflow, coordinates client services as well overseeing marketing initiatives and events.
Kelley attended George Mason University. She enjoys volunteering at her local church, traveling/hiking, and family beach vacations. Kelley lives in Gainesville, Virginia, and has two grown children.
